Free public seminars on the use of adult stem cells for several degenerative and inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, are being offered by the Irvine Stem Cell Treatment Center throughout January. The lectures will be held by Dr. Thomas A. Gionis, the Surgeon-in-Chief, Medical Director, and Director of Stem Cell Research at the center. He has been practicing for 4 decades, and is known to be the youngest individual in the United States to complete his medical degree. The complimentary seminars will take place on January 11, 13, 16 and 17, 2015.
Similar to other centers that specialize in stem cell therapy, such as the Miami Stem Cell Treatment Center and the Manhattan Regenerative Medicine Medical Group, the Irvine Stem Cell Treatment Center, located in Irvine and Westlake, California uses adult adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs) to improve the lives of many patients suffering with chronic, inflammatory and degenerative diseases. The ADSCs are collected from each patient’s fat tissue, localized inside a cellular mixture named stromal vascular fraction (SVF) – a solution rich in proteins, containing mononuclear cell lines and an abundance of ADSCs. A fifteen-minute mini-liposuction is done, using local anesthesia, in order to obtain the fat tissue.
ADSCs are recruited through chemical signs that damaged tissues are able to emit, so the reparation and the regeneration of the injured cells can begin using the natural healing cells existing within the body. The Irvine Stem Cell Treatment Center does not use embryonic stem cells; only the Adult Autologous Stem Cells from each person’s fat.
